At NAME we are committed to training and equipping husband-and-wife teams to perform biblical counseling through our DVD-based curriculum.  Our premise being God never intended for the senior pastor to spend an inordinate amount of his or her time counseling marriages.  Within every church there is an abundance of lay couples who are passionate about marriage and can aid in helping other couples develop strong Christian marriages if they are properly trained. 

These lay couples will go through an intensive biblical training program that includes some of the best marriage ministry training from leaders such as Dr. Leo and Molly Godzich, Pastors Arnold and Gwen Tackett, and Pastor Tommy Barnett addressing specific areas of biblical marriage counseling. 

Upon completion of the training, the couples may submit a certification examination along with a pastoral recommendation form as application to receive the designation of Certified Marriage Specialist (CMS).  This designation is renewable annually as care couples continue to show themselves to be members in good standing at their local church.  Their ongoing active status ensures they will receive pertinent educational updates and further resources to enhance their learning.

NAME is one of the only biblical marriage counseling certification systems recognized by courts, governments, and higher education (Master’s degree level credits in Marriage & Family Therapy at universities).
